Logotechnia Mission
The Bible—Simpler. Closer. Yours.
Communicating the message of the Bible to children in easy-to-understand language
Logotechnia Mission's mission is to communicate the message of the Bible to children aged 7 to 11 around the world through biblical literature in a language they can understand.
Logotechnia Mission’ s Prayer (Elijah's Prayer for Revival)
O LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be clear today that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that by your word I have done all these things. Answer me, O LORD, answer me, so that this people may know that you, O LORD, are God, and that you have turned their heart around. (1 Kings 18:36-37)
Logotechnia Mission’s Prayer (Paul's Call for Revival)
Arise and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you to appoint you a minister and a witness of the things that you have seen and the things that I will show you.
1 I will deliver you from this people and from the Gentiles and send you to them.
1 To open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that through their faith in me they may receive forgiveness of their sins and an inheritance with those who are sanctified” (Acts 26:16-18).
Our History
I (Hiro) believed in Jesus Christ and became a Christian in the fall of my third year of university. At the time, I was aiming to become a writer, so I read a lot of literary works and pursued my dream of writing a work that would move people. However, the more I pursued my dream, the more empty I felt. One day, through the Bible, I was shown that the dream I was aiming for had become an idol, so I decided to give up that dream and put God's kingdom and its righteousness first.
After some time passed, in 1992, I received a calling from God and decided to study the Bible with my wife and two children in the United States. As I was finishing up two years at Bible college and four years at seminary, I was shown something in a homiletics class. The Old Testament prophets sometimes used poetry, and drama and props to convey God's message to the stubborn people of Israel. I was also taught that there are similarities between the process of constructing an inductive sermon and the way of constructing a moving story.
In this way, I began to write improvised stories to tell to my young sons and a daughter before bedtime, using easy-to-understand expressions to convey God's message. The children began to laugh and listen to the messages of the Bible with joy, and I gradually began to write stories about the forest friends, centered around the main character, "Rocky the Raccoon."
Logothenia is the Greek word for literature, and logos means words. Jesus, who was the Word (logos), became flesh to convey the message of God the Father to us sinners. Jesus also used parables to convey God's love to the stubborn Jews. Jesus was not only the Savior, but also a great poet and storyteller. Moses and the other prophets were also great poets and men of letters. As a pastor and teacher, when I try to convey the Bible to the general public, I always feel frustrated that the Words of the Bible do not get through to the other person. However, God also convey His love and truth through the sounds of animals and the beauty and brilliance of colorful nature, in addition to the Words of the Bible. Sometimes these become poems, plays, dramas, and movies, and I believe they move people. Please pray that through the work of Logothenia Mission, the message of the Bible can be conveyed to children and adults around the world in familiar expressions.
